Credit Controller (12 months fixed term contract)

The role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Credit Controller to join us, working closely with our fee earners and Partners and wider finance team in managing the firm's accounts receivable and ensuring that outstanding debts are collected in a timely and efficient manner.

Role responsibility

As a Credit Controller you will be assigned a variety of tasks including the below;

  • Implementing the Firm's new process for chasing debt between 30 – 60 days for Corporate, Dispute Resolution and Private Client and escalating any clients with concerns
  • Assisting with chasing debts over 60 days old
  • Emailing statements to clients and dealing with any follow up actions
  • Liaising internally and with clients to resolve any outstanding payment issues, ensuring that all queries are dealt with in a timely and professional manner
  • Updating ARCS with the status of debt collection
  • Applying interest on the debt where necessary
  • Drafting pre application protocol letters and sending to clients
  • Referring debts to debt collection where necessary
  • Monitoring clients on payment plans
  • Assisting/preparing reporting progress updates to Partners, fee earners and senior management on the firm's credit control and debt recovery performance

About you

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate;

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a legal or professional services environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to organise and prioritise your own workload, managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
  • A strong understanding of financial processes and familiarity with accounting systems (including 3E and ARCS)
  • Confidence in working with fee earners and Partners
  • An ability to build strong relationships in the team and across the firm
