Knowledge Systems and Information Manager

The role

We are seeking a Knowledge Systems and Information Manager to manage the firm's knowledge management systems and information resources. Reporting into the Director of Knowledge, you will ensure that critical information resources are easily accessible, well-organised, and aligned with the firm's business objectives. This role also involves closely supporting various projects being undertaken as part of the Interconnected Firm strategy being promoted within Howard Kennedy.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the delivery of a forward looking programme, supporting  the delivery of exceptional client service.

Role responsibility

  • Management of online research databases and tools and vendor relationships as well as contract management
  • Maintenance , promotion and training of online knowledge systems, including providing new joiner inductions as well as involvement in firm wide campaigns
  • Management of the provision of our aggregated news tool for providing current awareness via an automated system and curated alerts
  • Management of business intelligence and business research products
  • Undertaking research for fee-earners (including involving legal resources as well as company information and  current awareness)
  • Invoice management for projects and online services budget
  • Analytics on database and tools usage to maximise product return on investment and to support renewal decisions
  • Act as a subject matter facilitator for projects both within the knowledge management sphere (such as document automation ) as well as more widely in the business ( through the Interconnected Firm projects)

About you

Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate

  • Experience in a knowledge management role, ideally within a law firm
  • Ability to build relationships across all levels of the firm and with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical information and business requirements in plain language
  • An appreciation  of change management requirements and experience  in driving engagement
  • An appreciation of  the significance of data and information governance as well as system architecture and  processes
  • An interest or experience in applying AI assisted tools in the knowledge sphere
  • Wish to be part of an ambitious  forward looking programme that will support the delivery of excellent client service
