Paralegal, Dispute Resolution - Real Estate Dispute Resolution

The role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Real Estates Dispute Resolution team within the Dispute Resolution Department.

Your role will involve a number of responsibilities including: working with the team to achieve tight deadlines, providing administrative assistance for a variety of tasks, research tasks, communicating with third parties (written and verbal), the completion and processing of legal forms/documents, and supporting with preparation for client meetings. 

Role responsibility

The ability to pro-actively seek out opportunities and use your initiative in supporting the team in an effective way is key to the role.  You will be enthusiastic in taking ownership of your responsibilities and matters, allowing you to learn and develop.

Key tasks

  • Assisting with the management of various files from end to end.
  • Scanning in all incoming post to the case management file.
  • Producing standard letters where applicable, particularly in relation to service charge recovery claims. 
  • Managing general enquiries from clients / third parties.
  • Assisting with the drafting of Court forms to i.e. pleadings, applications.
  • Managing residential possession claims through the courts.
  • Assisting with the drafting of statutory notices
  • Keeping a strict diary note of deadlines and timescales whilst in control of the file.
  • Assisting with the preparation of hearing and trial bundles.
  • Assisting with disclosure tasks.
  • Assisting with collating exhibits to witness statements.
  • Assisting with admin support when required.
  • Checking files and finalising the file for closure.
  • Dealing with any client balances on the file to go to the clients.
  • Dealing with client requests for stored deeds.

About you

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate;

  • Experience in a similar role, ideally within Real Estate or Real Estate Dispute Resolution.
  • Experience of working effectively to deliver to deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Pro-active and conscientious approach to work.
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Experience of time recording using Elite or a similar system is desirable but not essential
  • Experience of using Filesite or a similar document management system is desirable but not essential
