Paralegal, Real Estate - Development

The role

We are looking for a Paralegal to join our busy and thriving Real Estate Department. You will bring your experience in Real Estate and a driven attitude, and in return gain invaluable hands-on experience of working side-by-side with our Partners and solicitors, including direct exposure to our clients.

Your role will involve a number of responsibilities including: working with the team to achieve tight deadlines, providing administrative assistance for a variety of tasks, research tasks, communicating with 3rd parties, the completion and processing of legal forms/documents, and supporting with preparation for client meetings.

Role responsibility

You will need to bring energy and a flexible approach to your work. The ability to pro-actively seek out opportunities and use your initiative in supporting the team in an effective way are key to the role. You will be enthusiastic in taking ownership of your responsibilities and matters, allowing you to learn and develop.

Typical tasks include;

  • Client liaison.
  • Drafting first round documents.
  • Proof reading and checking documents for team members.
  • Legal Research.
  • Dealing with data rooms.
  • Assisting team members generally on transactions i.e. first drafting in certain cases, disclosure and document management etc.
  • Preparing and sending out engagement letters.
  • Opening appropriate folders in FileSite (our document management system) and ensuring used correctly.

About you

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate;

  • Proven experience in a similar role, working in Real Estate within a legal environment.
  • Experience of working effectively in a deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A Pro-active and conscientious approach to work.
  • Flexibility, initiative and a proactive nature.
  • Strong ability to communicate with clients and other contacts in a helpful, confidential and efficient way.
  • Proactivity in assisting the team, with the ability to take responsibility for projects.
