Risk and Compliance Solicitor

The role

We have an excellent opportunity for a legal Risk and Compliance professional to join our Risk and Compliance team. You will assist the General Counsel/COLP and the team with the delivery of the firm's objectives in reducing risk and achieving across the board compliance with regulatory and statutory obligations. This role will give you a fantastic chance for you to use your legal qualifications and showcase your prior risk and compliance experience which may include AML/Onboarding, to broaden your experience and develop into a rounded Risk and Compliance professional .

Role responsibility

  • Conduct file reviews and provide internal feedback to teams on areas for improvement and best practice.
  • Assist senior team members in the management of client complaints to include preparing chronologies and drafting responses, where appropriate
  • Assist senior team members in the management of claims and notification of circumstances to insurers to include drafting notifications and providing updates
  • Act as a point of contact for internal risk and compliance queries
  • Maintain the integrity of the team's administrative processes and systems  
  • Assist in preparing the firm for any external auditing or insurance renewal process.
  • Conduct ad-hoc research in all areas of risk management
  • Keep up to date with all relevant regulatory and compliance developments and feedback any suggestions for change in our processes or approach.
  • Assist team members with any other duties as and when required.

About you

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate;

  • Prior compliance experience 
  • Understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct 2019 and wider regulatory regime to include AML
  • Understanding of other compliance and risk issues affecting law firms
  • The ability to influence and persuade at all levels to ensure colleagues understand and follow correct procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills- with the ability to establish and maintain internal and external working relationships.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
