Technical Analyst
The role
We are seeking a motivated Technical Analyst to join our collaborative IT team. You will help support a dynamic hybrid environment of datacentre hosted infrastructure and cloud services, as we migrate to new technology focusing on cloud.
It's an exciting opportunity for a cloud-first technologist to contribute to innovative projects and support the firm's technology strategy. It will be well-suited to a proactive individual with a good technical background and knowledge of cloud services, networking, virtualisation, scripting, and an understanding of cybersecurity.
This is a permanent, hybrid position. The technical team works on a rotating shift pattern on the following basis:
08.00 – 16.30
10.00 – 18.30
There is an out of hours rota in place covered by both technical and service desk teams.
Role responsibility
- Cloud Knowledge and Services: Manage and troubleshoot cloud services, preferably Azure. Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.
- SaaS Management: deploying and managing SaaS solutions.
- Networking: knowledge of IP networking, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Windows: deployment, management, and troubleshooting of Windows clients and servers
- Data Protection: must have a basic understanding of data protection laws and GDPR.
- Cyber Security: must have general knowledge of cyber security principles and best practices, including secure system design and AI security implications.
- Cloud Services: Microsoft 365: configuring Microsoft 365 services like Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Power Platform.
- Identity Management: knowledge of Microsoft Entra and Active Directory, including user authentication and authorisation.
- Networking Details: understanding of IPV4 subnetting and VLANs, preferably Cisco infrastructure.
- Virtualisation: knowledge of VMware vSphere and Azure VMs, including creating and managing virtual environments.
- Scripting: experience with PowerShell and Python for automation and system management.
- Power Platform: experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools.
- AI Platforms: experience with AI/LLM technology, including Copilot and Agentic AI.
About you
Ideally, you will also demonstrate:
- 2-4 years' of experience in a start up or professional environment
- Technical curiosity and interest in exploring new technologies and finding innovative solutions.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude towards continuous learning and professional development.
- Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple workloads and competing priorities.
- Ability to change priorities quickly, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Ability to work independently while being a strong, dependable team player
- An understanding of excellent client service and delivering the highest standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
