Payroll Analyst

The role

We are looking for an experienced and detail orientated Payroll Analyst to join our Finance department. You will take responsibility for coordinating and managing the firm’s monthly payroll process from start to finish, ensuring that all employees and Partners are paid accurately, on time and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Role responsibility

You will be solely responsible for the administration and delivery of the firm’s monthly in-house payroll (an employee payroll of approximately 370 and a partner payroll of approximately 70) from start to finish, including payrolling benefits. This will include;

  • Carrying out all required regulatory procedures, such as the monthly Full Payment Submissions and Employer Payment Summaries
  • Processing the payroll journals and reconciling related payroll control accounts
  • Completing payroll Tax Year End procedures, including P60's and P11Db.
  • Working in partnership with the HR Operations team to ensure all payroll changes are captured accurately
  • Addressing employee queries regarding payroll matters
  • Staying updated on changes in payroll legislation and regulation and ensuring compliance
  • Calculating the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement and bonus payments
  • Updating our salaries variance analysis monthly
  • Overseeing the commission calculations for employees and consultants.
  • Project work and additional related tasks as required, including providing data for our gender pay gap reporting

About you

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate;

  • Previous experience of using ADP iHCM2 payroll
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of payroll and benefits related practice, processes, and regulation within a similar environment, e.g., Financial Services or Professional Services
  • Up-to-date technical payroll and benefits knowledge, including the ability to calculate income tax and National Insurance
  • Advanced Excel skills, including knowledge of VLookups, Pivot Tables and filters.
  • Experience with pension and benefits administration, including auto-enrolment.
  • Strong verbal, numerical, and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels, both within and outside the firm.
  • Proven track record of high organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of the broader Finance team.
  • Understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • An innovative and collaborative mindset, with the confidence and experience to suggest new approaches and processes.
