Responsible Business Manager

The role

We are seeking a passionate, resourceful and highly motivated individual to drive the responsible business agenda throughout our business.  Responsible Business at Howard Kennedy is focussed on our people, our community and our clients. You will have a strong interest in all of these areas, with experience of working within the sustainability/corporate responsibility field.

Role responsibility

Howard Kennedy is embarking on an ambitious journey of growth underpinned by a strong culture and a desire to be straightforward in everything that we do.  As part of this journey and central to our strategy, we want to develop and live by our own responsible business behaviours and professionalise our offering to clients. You will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the stakeholders across the business to:

• Develop a responsible business framework and plan, including targets and measurement of progress.
• Develop our existing website content to reflect the wider scope of responsible business.
• Develop our own annual Responsible Business Report.
• Proactively lead on the development and implementation of our responsible business strategy, to drive the action plan and ensure that it remains a clear and consistent priority and part of everything we do.
• Provide leadership and coordination of our internal responsible business networks.
• To lead in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of projects related to responsible business.
• Build on our external reputation for responsible business from the inside out, promoting what we do and sharing what makes us authentic.
• Represent the firm at internal and external events.

About you

You will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience of working within the sustainability/corporate responsibility field, preferably in a professional services or corporate environment.
• Excellent understanding of the responsible business agenda, as well as a good understanding of relevant regulations and legislation.
• An operational mindset with proven experience of developing/delivering responsible business plans, whilst adopting a hands-on approach as part of a wider team.
• Outstanding coordination and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to influence, coach and develop strong and trusted relationships.
• Flexibility and adaptability. 
• A sharp focus on goals and a strong approach to achieving them.
• Strong data analysis skills and confidence with Excel.
• Excellent written communication skills.
